Aldi buys part of former American TV site in Brown Deer

Property sold by the village

Discount supermarket retailer Aldi has purchased a portion of the former American TV & Appliance site in Brown Deer for $650,000, according to state records.

Aldi bought the building, 6700 W. Brown Deer Road, from the Brown Deer Community Development Authority.

The community development authority purchased the 10 acre site in early 2015 after American TV & Appliance of Madison Inc. went out of business for $2.6 million.

Pak Technologies, a Milwaukee manufacturing company, bought 7 acres and the former American building in 2015.

Aldi purchased an outlot on about 2 acres on the southeast corner of the property.

The company will begin construction on a retail store in spring, said Nate Piotrowski, community development director with the village of Brown Deer. The store is expected to open in September or October.
