Jagemann Stamping Company has changed a lot since its founding in 1946. Back then, employees of the Manitowoc company used hand-fed single operation presses to make short-run orders. Today, the company uses state-of-the-art equipment to fulfill precise orders – many of which are for the automotive industry.
“The automotive sector is very high tech work. We use technology to make sure everything we do is precise,” said CEO Tom Jagemann. “If you look at the automotive industry, (previously) a car never would make it to 100,000 miles and now some vehicles don’t need their first real checkup until they get to that mark. It’s incredible the advances the industry has made.”
To keep up with its growing business, Jagemann Stamping added a 50,000-square-foot addition to its manufacturing facility in May 2013. In addition to that $18 million project, the company purchased four new Aida presses that provide the company increased flexibility for its operations, said President Ralph Hardt.
“We saw incredible growth in the past year or so. We added 102 employees during 2013, bringing us up to over 300,” he said.
The company is known for its engineering and manufacturing of deep drawn and progressive metal stampings and fine blanking that serve not only the surging automotive sector, but a wide swath of industries.
“We’re hitting on all cylinders right now,” Jagemann said. “The pace of change in manufacturing has never been faster, but we are keeping up and meeting our customers’ needs.”
