West Allis-based Atomix Logistics LLC will move its operations to Milwaukee’s Near West Side.
Currently located at 11001 W. Mitchell St. in West Allis, Atomix, a startup partnering with emerging consumer brands to store, package and ship e-commerce orders, will move to 2203 W. Michigan St. in Milwaukee and is planning to hire up to 30 people in 2022.
“This move signifies a pivotal moment for Atomix and gives us the opportunity to take root in the heart of Milwaukee,” said Austin Kreinz, founder and chief executive officer of Atomix. “Our family’s long history in the logistics industry combined with our growing and experienced team has allowed us to scale from our original 400 square feet of warehouse space. We’re looking forward to building the company and expanding our team in the Near West Side.”
Atomix was founded in 2019 by Kreinz, who had spent several years as a financial analyst covering the consumer retail industry in New York City and time as a sales and growth manager at State & Liberty, an early stage e-commerce brand. He noticed a significant gap in the market between legacy third-party logistics companies and large-scale, technology-focused startups, and he wanted to fill that gap. Kreinz chose Milwaukee as the company’s new headquarters because of the city’s growth and potential.
“Milwaukee has the potential to become an emerging tech ecosystem, and the company is excited to help move the city forward and attract local talent that has traditionally migrated to nearby hubs like Chicago and Madison,” according to a statement from Atomix leadership.
Over the next two years, Atomix plans to prioritize vertical integration and open additional East and West Coast facilities.
