Linda Hoover, president and chief executive officer of Educators Credit Union, has led her team in keeping all 26 Educators Credit Union branches in southeastern Wisconsin open to their more than 207,000 members during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hoover also took care of the credit union’s 525 staff members. Educators did not furlough or lay off a single employee.
Educators is the first and only credit union in southeastern Wisconsin to offer video banking during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Anne Zizzo, founder and CEO of Zizzo Group Engagement Marketing. And in about a month, Educators launched Educators WeCU video banking, which has gone from 20 sessions its first day to more than 3,000 sessions per month.
Hoover has led Educators, which was recognized as one of the best credit unions in Wisconsin by Forbes magazine in 2019 and 2020, to donate $100,000 to Advocate Aurora Health to help with COVID needs, provide 4,000 Milwaukee Public Schools homeless students with a backpack of school supplies, provide funding to the Racine Unified School District for Zoom and donate more than 5,000 masks to local schools.
She is also a member of the board of directors of several local community organizations.
