Irving, Texas-based WB Development Partners plans to build a 48,000-square-foot inpatient physical therapy rehabilitation hospital in Greenfield.
The $15 million Milwaukee Rehabilitation Hospital is planned for a 4-acre vacant site at 3200 S. 103 St., where a former Knights of Columbus building used to stand. Currently, the site is used as parking for Schlossmann’s Honda overflow inventory.
The three-story hospital would have 40 inpatient beds, according to plans submitted to the city. Nobis Rehabilitation Partners, a Dallas-based operator of inpatient rehabilitation facilities, would run the facility’s operations.
According to the plans, the hospital would be similar in use to the Rehabilitation Hospital of Wisconsin in Waukesha, but would offer only inpatient services and not outpatient therapy.
The facility is expected to staff about 60 employees during the day and 40 at night. Patients coming out of acute care settings would stay at the proposed hospital for about 12 to 14 days before being discharged to return home.
The plan commission will review the hospital plans and a request for rezoning Tuesday.
