YWCA Southeast Wisconsin has appointed chief development officer Ginny Finn as its interim president and chief executive officer.
Finn succeeds Paula Penebaker, who in May announced she would retire at the end of the year. Penebaker joined YWCA Greater Milwaukee in 1999 as chief human resources and facilities officer. She was named executive director in May 2005 and, shortly after, president and CEO.
Finn has been with YWCA SEW since June 2018. An attorney, Finn has more than 25 years of experience in the arts, education and social services. She was previously executive director of ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis.
“She knows the organization very well and is passionate about the mission. When the board determines the time is right, she will pass the torch to the next executive and assure that person’s success and the organization’s continued growth,” Penebaker said.
In September, YWCA SEW announced an “acceleration of its overall strategic vision,” which involves growing a number of initiatives, including more than doubling adult education enrollment opportunities and growing the services of its Opportunity Advancement Center and Women’s Professional Image Programs. Additionally, the organization is expanding its Racial Justice Programming with employers through its Bridge to Work Program.
