SHARP Literacy’s annual fundraiser on Monday brought in more than $330,000 for the Milwaukee-based nonprofit.
Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell delivered the keynote to a crowd of more than 600 people at the organization’s “A Novel Event” at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee.
Funds raised at the event support SHARP’s literacy program, which is delivered to more than 8,500 students in grades K3-5 and educators in 41 Milwaukee and Waukesha county at-risk schools.
Alex Lasry, senior vice president of the Milwaukee Bucks, was recognized with SHARP’s Literacy Champion Award for his support of the organization’s education program. Northwestern Mutual received the organization’s EDGE Award.
Jimmy Mueller, account executive with Anthem; Jim Mueller, founder, president, and CEO of Mueller QAAS, LLC; and David Gruber and Steve Gruber of Gruber Law Offices, were event co-chairs.
