Elm Grove-based Annex Wealth Management has entered a three-year partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison to provide financial literacy education to its students, faculty and alumni.
Through the partnership, Annex, which recently entered the Madison market with a Middleton branch location, will conduct financial literacy workshops on campus and establish a presence in several campus areas, including the Alumni Association’s Grandparents University program, Division of Student Life’s All Campus Leadership Conference, and Campus and Visitor Relations and University Recreation & Wellbeing departments. The partnership’s financial terms were not disclosed.
David Spano, president and chief executive officer of Annex Wealth Management, said the goal of the partnership is to educate not only students and student-athletes, but also faculty, staff and alumni about financial, wealth and retirement concepts.
Annex has six branch locations throughout the state, including Appleton, Elm Grove, Delafield, Milwaukee, Mequon and Middleton. The firm also hosts three radio programs: “Money Talk” on WTMJ-AM 620, “The Annex Wealth Management Investment Show” on AM-WISN-AM 1130, and “The Annex Wealth Management Show” on WHBY-AM 1150.
Spano said Annex and UW-Madison share an education mission.
“Our core beliefs revolve around culture and education, and we have three radio shows in the Wisconsin market now, primarily trying to educate future investors and existing educators,” he said. “UW educates people about all kinds of topics, so it’s aligning our two cultures.”
The partnership will also give Annex visibility at UW Athletics events, including at Camp Randall Stadium.
“We are excited for this creative partnership between Annex and UW Athletics, which will provide long lasting benefits and value to our student athletes, fan base and the university,” said Barry Alvarez, UW director of athletics.
