Several upcoming holiday shopping events will feature the wares and services of local small businesses, in a push to encourage consumers to support local retailers as they buy gifts.
The Third Annual Best Christkindlmarket Milwaukee will be held at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery in downtown Milwaukee from Nov. 17 to Nov. 20.
Best Place and Mader’s Restaurant will serve food and drinks, live German music will be played and more than 20 vendors will be on hand selling gift items. Among the items for sale will be clothing, spices, cheeses, woodworking, leather goods, jewelry and Pabst items. Children’s activities will also be available. Local First Milwaukee will host its Buy Local Gift Fair 2016 on Sunday, Nov. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Seeboth, 131 W. Seeboth St. in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood.
More than 50 local vendors will sell goods such as jewelry, food, servingware, wreaths, soap and gift certificates at the event. Food and drinks will also be served by local restaurants and caterers at the event. More information is available on Local First’s Facebook page.
The Pfister Hotel will host a Holiday Marketplace from Nov. 25 to Dec. 24 in the former Roger Stevens clothing store space on its first floor.
The event includes more than 50 vendors and artists, featuring handmade items like jewelry, ceramics, knitted winter gear, candles and artwork. There will also be workshops and artist demonstrations in the pop-up shop. More information is available on The Pfister’s Facebook page.
Milwaukee’s Small Shops United is offering a 2017 Exclusive Gift Pack, a membership card that offers the savings promotions of a large group of local restaurants, shops, coffee houses and entertainment venues to the neighborhood.
