Elkhart, Indiana-based Kem Krest is establishing operations in the former Unified Solutions Inc. space in the LakeView Corporate Park in Pleasant Prairie.
The supply chain and fulfillment services provider will use the 275,000-square-foot building, located at 9801 80th Ave., as a facility for the warehousing and distribution of motorcycle parts and accessories and packaging materials, such as boxes, tape, film and bubblewrap.
The Pleasant Prairie plan commission approved site and operational plans for Kem Krest on Monday.
Unified Solutions Inc. occupied the building for 22 years. In April, Kem Krest acquired the assets and inventory of Unified Solutions, Inc. Kem Krest has hired approximately 80 percent of Unified Solutions’ 161 employees. Kem Krest has assumed a portion of Unified Solutions business and will perform the same services for the same customers from the Pleasant Prairie facility. United Solutions ceased operations in late June.
Kem Krest employs 114 full-time employees in Pleasant Prairie and between 30-70 temporary positions between April and September. Maximum employment at the facility is expected to reach 200 employees.
