The facility, called Light House at Beaver Creek is being built at 60th Street and Brown Deer Road by New Perspectives Senior Living, a Minnesota-based assisted living continuum of care organization that owns and operates facilities in Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Illinois.

Light House at Beaver Creek will have 135 beds — 48 of which are reserved for patients in its memory care program, which specializes in services for people suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

New Perspective’s existing cottages in Brown Deer will be closed and its residents will be transferred to the new facility when it opens.

“We set our facilities up so residents can stay there and get everything they want,” said New Perspectives spokesperson Jennifer Shulla. “We’ll have a bus that takes our residents all over the area wherever they want to go do their shopping, a warm water therapy pool, workout facilities, and then we have a personal chef on board who does restaurant-style meals.”

The facility will also allow married couples to continue living together at the facility even if one of them is suffering from dementia and requires extra care and the other isn’t.

“So all the pressure isn’t on one spouse and they can still live together,” Shulla said.

The Light House at Beaver Creek sales office is currently open selling studios, one bedrooms, one bedrooms with dens and two bedrooms.
