The author of the New York Times best-seller “Let There Be Water,” a book that explains innovative techniques used in Israel to overcome water scarcity, will speak in Fox Point on Tuesday, March 15.
Author Seth Siegel will appear at Congregation Sinai at 8223 N. Port Washington Road at 7:30 p.m. to discuss how Israel can be a model for the United States and other countries as they encounter drought and water shortages.
Siegel’s appearance was organized by Women’s Philanthropy of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation and the Edie Adelman Political Awareness Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation.
Milwaukee Riverkeeper, Southeastern Wisconsin Watersheds Trust, The Water Council, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences, the Israel Center of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the Jewish National Fund and the National Council for Jewish Women-Milwaukee Section are co-sponsoring the event.
Siegel’s book was published on Sept. 15, 2015. It describes Israel’s intensive recycling methods and use of desalination plants to reduce the country’s reliance on a severely depleted aquifer.
