The Dohmen Company is moving forward with renovations on its second building in the Historic Third Ward in Milwaukee.
Dohmen purchased a 12,000-square-foot building at 200 N. Jefferson St. in October for $1.65 million.
After receiving approval Wednesday from the Third Ward Architectural Review Board, the company plans to move about 80 employees from one of its companies, Red Arrow Labs, to the building.
Red Arrow Labs, is a software development firm that works with the health sector. It is currently located at Dohmen’s Third Ward headquarters at 190 N. Milwaukee St.
Once the company is moved to the new building, there will be room for additional workforce growth for Red Arrow and Dohmen’s other companies, Dale Mittelstaedt, president of Red Arrow Labs said in a statement.
The Dohmen Company owns Dohmen Life Science Services, Red Arrow Labs, ChemWare and Siren.
“We look forward to the renovation’s completion later this summer thanks to collaboration with DeMichele Commercial Real Estate Services and Consortium,” Mittelstaedt said.
Dohmen moved its corporate headquarters from Menomonee Falls to the 42,141-square-foot building at 190 N. Milwaukee Street in summer 2014.
When the company moved, it had 160 employees but wanted enough space to accommodate up to 200 people. It currently employs 800 people nationally and 185 in Milwaukee.
