All of the details have not been released yet, but the city of Milwaukee could have a new partner to handle its waste wood.
Alderman Tony Zielinski described the partnership in a post on his Facebook page:
“A new company called Bay View Lumber will be taking the city’s waste wood and manufacturing it into usable products here in Bay View. Previously, the city was paying to ship this wood outside the city,” the post says.
Zielinski added that details would be released after the first of the year. Reached by email, he reiterated that details would be coming in early January.
The city has approximately 200,000 trees to manage, in addition to those on private property.
