Brookfield Chamber, WCTC to partner on new business training courses

Brookfield businesses will soon have access to a new menu of business training courses, thanks to a recently established partnership between the Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce and Waukesha County Technical College’s Center for Business Performance Solutions.Education-133805588-Shutterstock.jpg

Courses, starting in November, roll into a Business Education Program series. Courses will cover a variety of topics that promote business development and workforce advancement at businesses, including customer service, emotional intelligence, welcoming of new employees, collaborating with difficult people, creating high performance teams and holding essential conversations.

Continuing Education Unit credits will be made available through the series.

The new courses will largely be funded by a $127,000 Workforce Advancement Training grant awarded to the Center for Business Performance Solutions by the Wisconsin Technical College System. Grant dollars are intended to back workforce advancement of Brookfield businesses.

The grant will significantly reduce course costs for businesses, according to the Greater Brookfield Chamber. For instance, while a regular four-hour course would run at $129, chamber members will be able to take a four-hour course for $30 and non-member businesses will be able to take the course for $50.

Longer course sessions, eight-hour sessions and multiple day sessions will also be available. Course prices will vary according to course topic and session length.

The Greater Brookfield Chamber will play host to each course. The chamber is located at 17100 W. Bluemound Road, Suite 202, in Brookfield.

Courses will be held through August with the first course, centered on customer service, scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Pre-registration and advance payment are required for all courses.
