Lakeland College, located in Howards Grove, has added a new two-year associate of science degree.
The degree is available to students who complete the school’s pre-nursing program. Its goal is to provide students interested in entering the nursing field with a smoother transfer into Columbia College of Nursing in Glendale, where many of its students complete their bachelors of science in nursing degrees through a partnership between the two institutions.
Students who completed Lakeland’s pre-nursing program did not previously receive a degree. With the associate of science degree, Lakeland pre-nursing students will have documentation of their completed coursework.
The new associate degree has been approved by the Institutional Actions Council of the Higher Learning Commission.
