Saz’s Hospitality Group will be the exclusive planner and catering service for South Second, a new events venue planned for the Walker’s Point neighborhood.

South Second, 838 S. 2nd St. is able to accommodate up to 350 guests in a restored former manufacturing facility. The 6,000 square foot building includes an outdoor patio space and private mezzanine lounge. South Second is schedule to open April 1, 2016.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our presence in Walker’s Point,” Joe Brueggeman, director Saz’s Catering said in a statement. “Our new facility has already created many new opportunities for our business. Adding a venue here will only create more synergies for us in the neighborhood.”

Federal Commons South Second, LLC is seeking a $389,000 loan from the Milwaukee Economic Development Corp. to renovate the property.

Future phases of Federal Commons include a 10,500 square foot commercial office redevelopment with surface parking at 829 S. 1st Street, and a market-rate apartment building at 822 S. 2nd Street.
