Cedarburg-based Doig Corp. has acquired Weston-based Automated Solutions Plus.
ASP is a distributor of electrical controls, relays, sensors, PLCs, drives, circuit breakers and other parts that support automation control solutions. ASP has 12 employees, all of whom have joined Doig.
Doig Corp. distributes automated factory solutions, including motion control, robotics, pneumatics, sensors, vision and safety system products. The company now has 36 employees, and is in the process of hiring more, though no specific number has been set, said Jim Winistorfer, president and head coach at Doig.
With the acquisition, ASP will become a stocking branch location of Doig Corp. The integration of the firms will allow for a broader product offering.
“This deal broadens the base for access to more products and technical resources for both locations. Both ASP and Doig are known for providing exceptional technical and operational support to our customers. We work with some of the best automation solutions manufacturers in the world, and are thrilled to be able to offer their products to a wider selection of customers throughout Wisconsin” said Bob Doig, chief executive officer of Doig Corp. “We’ll be investing in training in support of our supplier partners in the market. This growth gives us many opportunities to develop our talented team.”
“We’re delighted to be a part of the Doig Team. With more sales people, more technical resources, and a broader line card of high technology automation products, we are looking forward to seeing this business move to the next level to support our customers, our suppliers and our combined team” said Dennis Held, ASP/ Doig branch manager and former owner and director of sales for ASP.
