National recording artist Malea McGuiness will perform at Summerfest on Saturday, July 3. McGuiness has announced that for the fourth year in a row she will donate 50 percent of all her Summerfest merchandise sales to the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Wisconsin Humane Society.
McGuiness resides in Los Angeles, Calif., but loves coming back to Milwaukee she said.
“I love coming back to Milwaukee, and I’ve always been a big fan of all types of Museums,” she said. “When I first came to the city I visited the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Humane Society and was really impressed with what I saw.”
According to McGuiness, the Wisconsin Humane Society is a lot different than other faciities across the nation.
“I’ve always been a huge advocate for the mission of the Humane Society organizations,” McGuiness said. “But I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness, the order and the programs implemented by the Wisconsin Humane Society and I wanted right away to be a part of it.”
Originally from New York, her love for art and museums drove McGuiness to also select the Milwaukee Art Museum to receive a portion of the proceeds.
McGuiness is scheduled to perform at the Harley Davidson Roadhouse at 4 p.m. She will hold a meet and greet session after her performance
