Mason Wells acquires Mullinix Packages

Milwaukee private equity firm Mason Wells announced it has acquired Ft. Wayne, Ind.-based manufacturer Mullinix Packages Inc.
Mullinix makes thermoformed clamshells, trays, cups and lids for the food processing, retail and restaurant industries. It opened a second location in Miami Lakes, Fla. In 2010, where its mx Sleeve-Redi products are manufactured.
Mason Wells purchased Mullinix from the family of George Lueken, who founded the company more than 40 years ago. The business will be owned by Mason Wells and management.
Mullinix serves branded and private label food processors, food packaging companies, quick service restaurants and foodservice distributors. It is currently undergoing a $4 million, 292,000-square-foot expansion at its Ft. Wayne location.
