Baird to open Utah wealth management office
Milwaukee-based Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. today announced it is opening a new wealth management office in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The new office will be overseen by Dean Cottle, who has joined the employee-owned international wealth management firm as director of the Utah market.
Cottle, a 34-year veteran of the financial services industry, will manage the future Baird branch, which marks Baird’s continued expansion in the Western United States.
“As a native of Salt Lake City, I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Dean to Baird and work with him to establish our first wealth management office in the area,” said Baird chairman, president and chief executive officer Paul Purcell. “I’m confident that Baird’s focus on putting clients first and providing the best possible financial advice will be well received in the region.”
Prior to joining Baird, Cottle held branch management roles at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and predecessor firms Shearson Lehman Bros. and E.F. Hutton in the Salt Lake and San Francisco regions.
“Dean is a tremendous addition to our Private Wealth Management business and to Baird,” said Mike Schroeder, president of Baird Private Wealth Management. “With his deep industry knowledge and appreciation for Baird’s unique culture, he is well suited to help the firm establish a presence in the Salt Lake area. We’re very pleased he has chosen to continue his career at Baird.”
Cottle serves on the board of governors for the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. Cottle is also on the board of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah and is a member of the Salt Lake Colonels, an association that supports local law enforcement.
