The Direct Supply Technology Center at MSOE opened this week, according to an announcement by Direct Supply, Inc. on Tuesday. Occupying more than 9,000 square feet in the German-English Academy building on MSOE’s campus, the center has the capacity to hold 60 Direct Supply computer engineers and technology interns.
According to MSOE president Dr. Hermann Viets, the new facility will enhance the ongoing partnership between Direct Supply and the university.
“MSOE and Direct Supply have a long history of working together, and I am pleased to welcome them to our campus,” Viets said. “There are 57 MSOE alumni who work at Direct Supply, and 15 students who are interning there this year. This move further strengthens our relationship with the company.”
Direct Supply president and CEO Bob Hillis, who also serves as a member of the MSOE Board of Regents, believes the new facility will create more opportunities for collaboration between the organizations, which have worked closely together for the past 26 years.
“[The center] is an important and exciting step in the continued growth of our employee-owned company and an opportunity for our engineering interns and full-time engineers to collaborate more closely with the MOSE faculty and students on new technology and innovation,” Hillis said.
Direct Supply, Inc. provides equipment, eCommerce and service solutions to senior living communities and is headquartered in Milwaukee.
