The Milwaukee Regional Medical Center has named Dr. Gene Gilchrist executive director. Gilchrist will succeed current director William Hatcher, who is retiring, beginning Sept. 4, according to a recent announcement from MRMC.
Gilchrist comes to MRMC with more than 30 years experience in finance, government relations and health care management at schools across the country. For the past eight years, he has been associate vice president of health affairs for the University of Louisville in Kentucky. He was also vice president for administrative affairs for 10 years at St. Cloud State University in Minn. and has worked in finance at the State University of New York Gilchrist holds a PhD in Higher Education from the State University of New York in Albany and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. As Gilchrist takes over for Hatchner, his responsibilities will include helping find ways to reduce costs and enhance quality of operations and services of campus members.
