Serigraph to host business health care cost forum

West Bend-based Serigraph Inc., which has held its health cost increases to less than 3 percent per year for the last nine years, is inviting other companies to a benchmarking event to learn how to tame health care cost inflation.

“We have had a steady stream of people coming to the company to learn about our business model for the delivery of health care,” said Linda Buntrock, senior vice president of human resources. “We’ve been happy to host other companies, because we do a lot of benchmarking ourselves. But the demand for a close look at the moving parts in our new model has prompted us to get our act together and present our journey in an organized manner.”

A full-day session will be offered May 17 at the company from 8.m. to 4 p.m.
Attendees will hear how Serigraph has avoided premium increases in six of the last nine years from people directly involved in the management of health costs, including chairman John Torinus Jr., Buntrock, company managers and a panel of several co-workers who have engaged as active consumers of health care.

Torinus wrote a book called “The Company that Solved Health Care” and is now speaking on the subject across the country. He recently became a regular contributor of content to the Milwaukee Biz Blog at BizTimes.com.

“Controlling health costs is more about management science than political science,” he said.

Attendance at the event will be limited to 25 attendees. For more information and to enroll, visit www.SeriHealth.com.
