Milwaukee private equity firm Generation Growth Capital Inc. has acquired Tri Aerospace LLC of Terre Haute, Ind.
Tri Aerospace manufactures large, complex engine components for aerospace engine suppliers. The company also provides engineering, project management and prototype development to its customers.
Generation Growth Capital plans to make significant investments to drive growth at Tri Aerospace. The facility and management team will not be changed.
Previous owners Bob Brown and Mary Beth Prickel will assist with the transition at Tri Aerospace.
“I look forward to the even greater success that the company will have in the future,” Brown said. “I think that our choice in buyers couldn’t be better. The team at GGC are true professionals. I look forward to working with them.”
The new acquisition will fit into GGC’s Model 2 Machine Group investment platform, which focuses on companies that provide high tolerance machining, parts development, near net shape casting and rapid prototyping to OEM customers. The group also includes M2M Machining Inc. in Muskego and Clinkenbeard & Associates Inc. in Rockford, Ill.
“Tri Aerospace is a perfect fit for the Model 2 Machine Group platform, both from a capabilities and a cultural perspective,” said John Reinke, managing director at GGC. “We see immediate opportunities to leverage the capabilities of Tri Aerospace, Clinkenbeard, and M2M Machining to provide our OEM customers with an array of services to support their research and development projects all the way through to production.”
