Bridgewood completes deal

Bridgewood Advisors, a Milwaukee M&A advisory firm, has assisted a Madison start-up with a sale to a Swiss competitor.

Entrustet is a digital estate planning service that protects online assets. Subscribers to the company’s Account Guardian can compile all account information and passwords and then a make a plan for the assets when they die. The accounts can be deleted or left to heirs.
Entrustet was sold to DSwiss, parent company of document security company SecureSafe.
“This is a great example of how niche businesses can command international interest as companies continue to seek ways to strengthen their global reach” said Doug Marconnet, managing director at Bridgewood Advisors.
Entrustet was founded in 2008 and has customers in 20 countries, as well as partnerships with U.S. estate planning attorneys. The existing network is expected to help DSwiss break into the U.S. market.
“We are delighted that Entrustet will be incorporated into SecureSafe’s impressive service and know our customers will enjoy SecureSafe’s enhanced features,” said Nathan Lustig, co-founder of Entrustet.
