Oostburg-based Dutchland Plastics Corp., a plastic products manufacturer, announced that it has acquired Greenville, S.C.-based Continental Southern Industries, a company that specializes in large part blow molding.
Dutchland said the deal will enable it to expand its growing blow molding services and broaden its geographic reach into the southeast.
"CSI has earned a reputation for providing large, custom blow molding capabilities," said
Carl Claerbout, Dutchland’s chief executive officer and owner. "At Dutchland, we have molded our reputation on customer service. The combination of Dutchland’s strong reputation and experience with CSI’s capabilities will be a powerful benefit to our customers. We are committed to growing and producing right here in the USA."
National Tissue to acquire North Carolina manufacturer
Mike Graverson, president of National Tissue Company LLC in Cudahy, announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire the assets and ongoing business operations of Merfin Systems from its parent company, Buckeye Technologies Inc.
National Tissue Company markets and sells its broad product line of away-from-home products primarily to distributors concentrated in the Midwest.
Merfin Systems is located in King, N.C. Its proprietary and standard products are sold primarily to distributors concentrated in the eastern United States and Canada.
Graverson has appointed Kristy Leonard, a five-year Merfin Systems employee, as the King location general manager.
"Merfin is an excellent fit and will complement National Tissue’s core business. Merfin brings their proprietary dispensing systems and other product extensions to our basic offering. Adding a second and expandable operating location is a big step in our strategic roadmap,” Graverson said.
Buckeye chairman and CEO John Crowe said, "We are pleased that our employees in King are now partnered with a strategic industry player. While not part of our core business profile, we have been pleased with our 15 year ownership of Merfin Systems. We believe this opens up new horizons for this fine company."
Leonard said, "We appreciate the support of Buckeye over the years. Our new relationship with National Tissue creates great opportunities for our business and our people. We are poised to bring value and growth to our combined businesses."
