Portia Young is transitioning from her role as anchor and reporter for WISN 12 News to public relations manager in communications for Plymouth-based Sargento Foods Inc.
“We are excited to have Portia on board and are confident in her ability to expand the Sargento presence in our community,” said Louie Gentine, president and chief customer officer at Sargento. “With her deep-rooted community ties, media expertise and engaging personality, Portia will be a great addition to the Sargento family.”
In her new position with the cheese manufacturer, Young will focus on print and electronic communications internally and externally. She will serve as a writer, editor and a company spokesperson.
Young worked as an anchor and reporter for almost 10 years on WISN 12 News This Morning in Milwaukee and was nominated for an Emmy during her tenure with the broadcast station. She completed her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
