Retail Symposium to offer industry insight

The Greater Milwaukee Retail Symposium will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at ManpowerGroup global headquarters, 100 Manpower Place in Milwaukee.

The event will feature two keynote addresses by Suzy Teele, chief operating officer of ShapRetail in Pittsburgh, Pa., regarding connecting with today’s connected consumer and the retailer’s perfect social media fit. A closing keynote by Rocky Marcoux, commissioner of the Milwaukee Department of City Development, Beth Weirick, chief executive officer of Milwaukee Downtown and Sandy Golden, senior vice president at CBRE, will discuss Milwaukee’s vision for retail downtown.

Breakout sessions throughout the day will cover topics including retail law and creating additional revenue streams. A vendor trade show, networking, a lunch, raffle prizes and a champagne toast are also part of the daylong event.

The event is organized by Milwaukee Downtown, Retailworks Inc., Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corp., Local First Milwaukee and Visit Milwaukee.
