Menomonee Falls-based Kohl’s Corp. will donate more than $2 million to several environmental nonprofits, the company announced today.
Thousands of Kohl’s Department Stores associates will also volunteer at the organizations this month in honor of National Volunteer Week and Earth Day, as part of Kohl’s fifth annual National Go Green Event.
Among the national Kohl’s Associates in Action volunteer events this month is a project to create an outdoor classroom, weed community gardens and clean up parks with the Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee. Employees will also remove invasive species and plant native vegetation to preserve wildlife habitats, landscape yards for Habitat for Humanity and spread mulch at a zoo at events across the country.
Since 2001, Associates in Action has contributed volunteers to 143,000 activities and generated more than $79 million in corporate grants.
