Menomonee Falls-based MTI Electronics has been acquired by Austin, Texas-based technology product manufacturer VirTex Enterprises LP.
MTI is an electronic contract manufacturer that offers PCB and electronic assembly, box build, PCB prototypes, DFM, testing services and other circuit board assembly services. It serves the industrial, automotive, defense and aerospace, medical and homeland security industries.
MTI will become a wholly owned subsidiary of VirTex. Through the acquisition, the company has expanded its geographic footprint to serve the Midwest region.
“MTI Electronics’ customer base and focus is very complementary to that of VirTex,” said Brad Heath, chief executive officer of VirTex. “In MTI, there is a tremendous opportunity to cross-sell services and leverage the smart sourcing concept that VirTex has pioneered with its Austin and Juarez facilities.”
There are no changes to the operating entity or the employees at MTI.
“Both companies can learn from one another in terms of operations and efficiency and are truly best in class performers with the awards and certifications to prove it,” Heath said. “The real winner in this acquisition will be existing and future customers of VirTex and MTI.”
