The Salvation Army of Greater Milwaukee and partner 1290 WMCS AM Will host the 20th Annual Christmas Family Feast on Christmas Day at the Midwest Airlines center, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue from 11a.m. until 2 p.m. The organizations are preparing to serve 10,000 people this Christmas.
“The Christmas Family Feast is a Milwaukee tradition. What started out 20 years ago as a dinner to feed those in need has evolved into an important holiday event where a great meal serves as the centerpiece for a wonderful day of fellowship and community,” said event planner Don Rosette.
This year’s Christmas Family Feast menu will consist of roast turkey, baked ham, country stuffing, candied yams, sweet green peas, mashed potatoes, fresh baked dinner rolls, and an assortment of desserts and beverages.
Guests will receive complimentary gifts, (while they last) including a homemade pie courtesy of Baker’s Square Restaurants and Pies.
“Christmas is a wonderful time of year when we are all reminded of the many blessings we have,” said Major Jesse Collins, Salvation Army Milwaukee County Commander. “However, for many in our community, the Holidays can be challenging. The economy has taken a toll on so many families and through the Feast we are able to share compassion and feel the real benefit of community.”
