Cholives pairs with Van Gogh for national rollout

The Cholive Company, LLC. in Milwaukee recently embarked on a national rollout of its chocolate product paired with Florida-based Vincent Van Gogh Vodka’s new Dutch Caramel flavored vodka.

"I approached Van Gough Vodka company about nine months ago. They offer a Dutch chocolate vodka and an espresso-flavored Vodka that pair really nicely with our truffles,” said Joshua Gentine, president of Cholive. "They were in the process of creating their new Dutch Caramel flavored Vodka and so we decided to partner together on the launch, and sell chocolate and vodka in the space."

The companies have launched the pairing in California, Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, D.C., South Carolina and Florida, and have plans to launch in other states, including Wisconsin later in July, Gentine said.

"People love premium chocolate, and as we looked at the food and beverage space in restaurants and cocktail bars it didn’t exist," Gentine said. "That’s why we started bringing the Cholive as well as our other 16 different flavors of truffles to the space as both drink accessories as well as mini desserts."

According to Gentine, the truffles pair well with wines, and cocktails and even add a nice touch to certain drink recipes.

The company is in the process of hiring to help with the launch pairing of Cholives and Van Gogh vodka, but in mid-August, they plan to launch their retail rollout, as well.

"The Cholives and the other truffles will be placed in specialty retail and gourmet liquor and wine stores later in August," Gentine said.

"Overall the response has been fantastic," Gentine said. "It is fun to come to different cities and promote the two products together and gauge individual interest, we are really looking forward to continuing this partnership."
