The principals of Wauwatosa-based Corporate Identity Solutions LLC, Michelle D’Attilio and Jeanette Pham, recently formed a twitter profile account @tweetupgirls, dedicated to showcasing the Milwaukee area’s scheduled "tweetups." A tweetup is a networking event specifically set up and marketed through the social media site Twitter- that allows individuals to meet up in person with other individuals they have connected with via Twitter. “We have a website development company, and started on Twitter earlier this year,” D’Attilio said. “We had a lot of success with our first Tweetup and decided it only made sense to create the (Tweetupgirls) twitter account since that was the nickname we had kind of been given.” The Milwaukee Tweetup girls have dedicated the twitter account to notify its following of any and all Tweetups, that they hear about in the Milwaukee community. “Our real goal is to bring together local business leaders to get more business done locally,” Pham said. “We have a great love for Milwaukee and this community and want to see it flourish.” According to D’Attilio, the two women have seen a lot of success in the Milwaukee community since their company was formed ten years ago. “We really wanted to bring together the contacts that have helped us succeed over the past ten years with the new contacts we have made over Twitter in the last six months and let them network for change and new opportunities,” she said. The two have also started a ‘Twitter Twibe’ called Milwaukee Tweetups that can generate a constant feed of ‘tweets’ related to any tweetups taking place in the Milwaukee area. Eventually they’d like to form a website that can hold more of the information, D’Attilio said. Corporate Identity Solutions, along with First Priority Printing in Mequon, are co-hosting the next Big Milwaukee Tweetup on Wednesday, June 17 at Harvey’s Central Grille, 1340 W. Towne Square Road in Mequon. “Right now we have around 60 or so people registered,” Pham said. “We are expecting a good turn out.” According to Pham, the event will feature a large appetizer spread and a cash bar. Twitter Tutors: Tom and Margie Snyder from Trivera, Todd Nilson from Talentline 411, Juergen Schreck from Sitesquad, and Cd Vann from Sohobiztube will be on hand at the event to share their Twitter knowledge with those who may be less familiar with the site, she said. “The tweetup is designed specifically for business people," D’Attilio said. “We are really interested in bringing a wide variety of companies to the same gathering to see what we can do for each other.” Cost for the event is $12 per person. The Tweetup girls are also organizing a Tweetup scheduled for Wednesday, July 1 on the Summerfest lake deck.
