Penfield Children’s Center, a leading non-profit organization in Milwaukee dedicated to helping infants and young children, recently received the Community Partnership Award from Marquette University’s College of Education. The award, given for the first time this year by the College of Education, honors local organizations for their commitment to demonstrate Marquette’s mission of excellence, faith, leadership and service in Milwaukee.
“Penfield has been collaborating with Marquette for years to provide programs to the kids we serve. Whether it’s been through the behavior clinic, service learning programs or fundraising events on our behalf, they have always been there to help. It’s an honor to be recognized through this award,” said Christine Holmes, Penfield Children’s Center president. “This is just icing on the cake. The real reward is partnering to work with children and their families everyday.”
“Penfield has been a very important partner for Marquette, our faculty, and most importantly, our students,” Kathleen Cepelka, Associate Dean of the College of Education said. “There was really no better choice than Penfield to receive this inaugural award.”
