Waterford-based HyPro Inc. notified state officials that it will be shutting down its Whitewater facility at 840 Executive Drive. It expects to lay off approximately 62 employees on or after the close of the business on Nov. 2.
Some workers may be employed beyond that date due to business need and the winding down of the operation.
HyPro said the closure is a result of changing business circumstances and the decision to consolidate operations.
HyPro provides precision machining, finishing, assembly and other services to heavy-duty markets in the off-highway, on-highway, industrial, energy and transportation segments.
Besides Whitewater and Waterford, the company has locations in Elkhorn, Platteville, Rhinelander and Berlin. It is also in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Vinita, Okla. In total, HyPro has more than 700,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity.
